Our History
Serving Somerset Since 1945
Dumbauld’s Tire Service has been part of the Somerset community for generations. The business traces its roots back to 1945, when it was founded by Pete Dumbauld to serve local drivers, farms, and businesses in Somerset and the surrounding region. Over the years, the shop has provided tire sales, repairs, and service that help keep the area’s cars, trucks, and farm equipment moving.
The Mosholder Legacy
A defining chapter in the company’s history began when Max Mosholder joined the business as a high school senior in 1952. Over time he learned the trade and eventually became the owner, operating Dumbauld’s Tire Service for decades. Known throughout Somerset for his strong work ethic and friendly personality, Max helped grow the shop into a trusted local business while building lasting relationships with customers.
Carrying the Tradition Forward
Through the years, the Mosholder family has proudly carried on the tradition of dependable service and honest work that built the company. Max passed the business on to his three sons, Jeff, Scott, and Brian, whose dedication and commitment helped continue the legacy he started. With the same focus on quality workmanship and excellent customer service, they have helped Dumbauld’s Tire Service remain a trusted family-run business serving Somerset and the surrounding communities for generations.
Still Serving the Community
For Dumbauld’s Tire Service, serving the community has always meant more than selling tires. Supporting local schools, charities, and emergency responders remains an important part of the business. Each month the team also highlights a Charity of the Month, helping bring attention to local organizations that make Somerset County stronger.
